Just received The 8 wt Aurelius Fly Rod along with an SDX reel and Prime Premium fly line

Just received The 8 wt Aurelius Fly Rod along with an SDX reel and Prime Premium fly line. The plan is to use it for Atlantic Salmon an Artic Char in northeastern Quebec and Labrador. Not being able to wait that long to test it out I rigged it up and took a few casts in the snow the other day. Easily put out a 75' cast which is what I was looking for. Both rod and reel appear to be extremely well made. I showed a friend of mine who uses nothing but the best high end equipment and he was quite impressed. I will say the 8 wt line feels a bit light. Would not be surprised if the rod would handle a 9 wt. Either way, very pleased with the whole package. So much so I will be purchasing another Maxxom Reel for my nymphing rod within a few days.

I had been looking to buy a 7wt 4pc rod for some time. Members at my club had commented on the practicality of a 7wt for use in still water applications throughout our area.
